Bruno Huber (born in Zurich,
Switzerland) and his wife Louise Huber (born in Bamberg in Bavaria)
are the founders of one of the most dynamic schools of modern astrology
and are a major force in contemporary astrology in central Europe. Between
1958 and 1961 the Hubers were co-workers in Florence with Roberto Assagioli,
the founder of Psychosynthesis, who gave the Hubers the task of developing
a system of astrology in line with the findings of depth psychology.
After years of intensive research Bruno and Louise founded the Astrologisch-Psychologisches
Institut (API) or Huber School in Adliswil near Zurich in 1968. The
Hubers began to give lecture courses in Switzerland and Germany and
to lecture in the United States and Brazil as well. By 1973 they were
awarding diplomas to finishing students. Books by the Hubers have appeared
- to date - in eleven different languages and the Huber School itself
has spread to other countries. The English Huber School came into existence
in Britain in 1983. 1989 marked the founding of the Spanish Huber School
in Barcelona and since 1999 there has been a Huber School in Budapest,
Hungary. Bruno's passing in November of 1999 was a tragic loss to the
international astrological community but the work of the Institute continues
under the direction of Louise Huber and their son Michael-Alexander
Huber.
